Michelle Vaughan, RN

I am an accomplished Registered Nurse Leader recognized as the 2020 Virginia Nurses Foundation Nurse of the Year, with expertise across specialties like neuro-intensive care, bronchoscopy procedures, and respiratory intensive care development. I have also served as Nurse Residency Coordinator and Nurse Educator, guiding and mentoring new to practice nurses to ensure their success in clinical practice. I gained national attention for creating Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital’s “Be There Bears” initiative, supporting COVID-19 patients and families. Beyond nursing, for the past two years, I homeschooled my children and founded a successful rental property business.  I have a passion for managing complex patient cases and driving impactful outcomes. Throughout my career I have proven to be highly adept at change management with an expertise in caring for high-risk patients with complex disorders along with strong organizational skills, prioritization, and a passion for driving positive outcomes for both patients and health care teams.
