Congratulations to Lee Shapiro, the American Heart Association’s volunteer chairperson of the board, for receiving Icon recognition as part of the Top 50 in Digital Health Awards.

Presented by Rock Heath, the Icon award honors prominent leaders driving digital health forward by expanding access to care, writing health care policy, scaling companies, and moving technology from bench-to-bedside.

As the co-founder and partner of 7wire Ventures, a Chicago-based investment firm, Lee has consistently turned ideas into successful businesses that improve people’s health and well-being. During his prior tenure as president of Allscripts, he helped steer the company through the dot-com boom, the bust and the aftermath. Along the way, he oversaw roughly $4 billion in mergers and acquisitions.

Today, Lee leverages his expertise to guide the Heart Association as we fulfill our vision of advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere.
