Mary Ann Bauman, MD

Dr. Mary Ann Bauman is a board-certified internal medicine physician who practiced primary care for almost 40 years. She combined practice and administration as an officer of INTEGRIS Physician Services in Oklahoma City, OK. During her tenure, Dr. Bauman was actively involved in negotiating fee-for-service, capitation and pay-for-performance contracts.

Her focus on prevention began in the 1980s when she witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of unhealthy lifestyle habits. This led her to the American Heart Association where she first began as a speaker at events and then became  a committed volunteer at local, regional and national levels. Dr. Bauman has participated in many national committees, served as President of both the SouthWest and Western States Regions, chaired the Stroke Association Advisory Committee and was a member of the National Board from 2014-2022. She currently chairs the Corporate Relations Review Committee, and is a member of the Corporate Operations, Communications and Marketing, and Governance Committees. During her term as chair of the Communications and Marketing Committee, the iconic Heart and Torch logo was modernized to better appeal to social media audiences.
