Mujeeb Basit, MD MMSc

Dr. Mujeeb Basit, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and a member of the Division of Cardiology.

Originally from Hyderabad, India, Dr. Basit grew up in Houston. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in computer science from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He earned his medical degree at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He then completed a master’s degree in clinical informatics at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He received internal medicine residency training at George Washington University, followed by fellowships in cardiology at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boston, and clinical informatics at Harvard University.

Certified by the American Board of Internal medicine in cardiology, Dr. Basit joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2016.
Dr. Basit’s clinical interests include general cardiology and personalized management of long-term cardiovascular risk.
