Bringing AHA’s CarePlans to Life: Digital Innovation in Action
Overview
AHA’s CHTI team is excited to introduce the first-ever CarePlan Challenge in the Health Innovation Pavilion at Scientific Sessions, complementing the flagship Health Tech Competition.
The CarePlan Challenge invites developers, health tech innovators and AI experts to turn AHA’s CarePlans and digital content into digital prototypes that can enhance patient engagement, personalize care and improve health outcomes.
Three Challenge Champions will be selected to showcase their prototypes at the Health Innovation Pavilion during AHA Scientific Sessions in New Orleans (Nov 7-10, 2025).
Challenge Statement
How can digital health solutions integrate AHA’s CarePlans and digital content to enhance patient engagement, personalize care and improve health outcomes
Participants must develop a digital prototype to incorporate elements such as:
- AHA CarePlans (Heart Failure, Hypertension & Cardiac Rehab)
- Life’s Essential 8 digital content
- PREVENT Risk Calculator
For example:
- You could create an AI Interface using AHA’s digital content
- You could create a user interface for Prevent Risk Calculator
- You could create a dashboard for Life’s Essential 8
Who Can Participate?
- CHTI’s Innovator Network companies (not currently using AHA’s content)
- Prospective Innovator Network companies
- Health tech companies exploring AHA content
- Developers and AI specialists who are interested in AHA’s digital health ecosystem to enhance their health tech solution.
How It Works
1. CarePlan Challenge (Pre-Conference)
- Participants register to receive access via API to CarePlan Challenge folder of AHA’s CarePlans and digital content.
- Participants develop and submit a digital prototype demonstrating an AHA CarePlan and/or digital content integration into health tech solution.
- Please provide:
– Problem trying to solve
– How AHA CarePlan and/or digital content aims to solve problems
– Expected outcome - Submissions are reviewed by a panel of AHA-selected expert judges
2. Finalist Selection
- Three Challenge Champions will be chosen based on innovation, feasibility and impact
- Three Challenge Champions will be invited to present live at Scientific Sessions
3. Live Showcase at AHA Scientific Sessions (Nov 7-10, 2025)
- Finalist will demo their prototypes at the Health Innovation Pavilion on Saturday, Nov. 8 from 3:15 – 4:30pm
- Recognition by a panel of judges directly following presentations
