Health Tech + Health Equity: tackling complex health disparities with scalable solutions, ensuring equitable health for all.

Individuals of minority cultural and socio-economic groups in the U.S. are traditionally under-resourced and face unique barriers when it comes to healthcare. Accordingly, interaction with and usage of technology may greatly differ when accompanied by these challenges, but that doesn’t mean technology cannot provide scalable solutions for people of all needs and backgrounds when developed with an understanding of the audience. To create scalable digital solutions for some of our most at-risk populations, innovators, clinicians and healthcare systems will need to do away with a one-size-fits-all approach to offer engaging, personalized opportunities for health improvement for some of our most at-risk populations.

The American Heart Association’s Health Techuity initiative is working to better understand the unique and complex barriers standing in the way of quality and equitable care in order to bring lifesaving science in the form of scalable solutions to patients and consumers.
