Paul J Wang, MD

Dr. Wang is the Director of the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service and Professor of Medicine and Bioengineering (by courtesy) at Stanford University. He is the John R. and Ai Giak L. Singleton Co-Director of the Stanford Center for Arrhythmia Research. He has co-authored textbooks on implantable defibrillators, sudden cardiac death, cardiac resynchronization/ biventricular pacing therapy, and innovations in arrhythmia therapy. Dr. Wang serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Circulation: Arrhythmia and Electrophysiology. Dr. Wang received the 2017 AHA Council on Clinical Cardiology Distinguished Achievement Award. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Wang serves as the Center Director of the AHA Atrial Fibrillation SFRN DECIDE Grant and the Project Director of the AHA Health Technologies and Innovation SFRN Grant. Dr. Wang has co-developed a digital hypertension management solution which will tested in a clinical trial in the AHA Health Technologies and Innovation SFRN Grant. Dr. Wang’s research centers on developing innovative treatments of arrhythmias, including catheter ablation, implantable devices, and diagnostic techniques. Dr. Wang co-invented catheter cryoablation, which has been used in almost 1 million patients.
