Sidney C. Smith, Jr MD, FAHA, MACC, FESC, FJCS
Dr. Smith is Professor of Medicine/ Cardiology at the University of North Carolina. He is a Past President of the AHA and past President of the WHF. His academic focus has centered on the development of a broad spectrum of cardiovascular guideline statements. He has served as Chair of the ACC/AHA Task Force on CV Guidelines and Chair of NHLBI Executive Committee for the Integrated Guidelines for Prevention of CVD. He is a member of the 2025 ACC/AHA High Blood Pressure guideline Writing Committee.
